Christmas is in the Air Week 3: A Foodie Christmas!

What’s better than yummy holiday recipes? I personally can’t think of any. I find the holidays truly bring on the creative side of everyone. Word to the wise though, try out your pinterest recipes on some boys guinea pigs before taking to it church or family gatherings! Trust me it is better to know it’s good then hope it is good. 



If you haven’t guess today is all about “A Foodie’s Christmas.” Today you need to Share a recipe you’ll be making for the holidays or share what a typical Christmas dinner looks like for you. I know I personally don’t have my recipes set so I am looking for inspiration and can’t wait to see all of the wonderful recipes you link up! Since I don’t quite have what I am bringing planned out I decided to share with you cute ideas on food, snack, etc that everyone can enjoy! Perhaps you kids can help you even make some of these!

Puppy Chow
To start, I must talk about Puppy Chow. No I am not referring to dog food, but rather the amazing treat that a blog friend sent me last year! This recipe is one that kids and adults will enjoy and I suggest you check it out on Betsy’s blog! This is one of those treats that you can leave around for everyone to snack on while lunch is getting finished up. Warning though, this stuff is addictive. Bacon Wrapped Smokies
These little treats are one savory bit of food. My mom and I have been testing out different dishes lately that we have seen on Pinterest and this one was amazing. I do love some bacon wrapped anything and what better to wrap with bacon than little smokies. I find these are great for holiday gatherings where you need to bring a savory dish that is more of a finger food. 

Christmas Tree Cupcakes
In my family we chose to do Christmas Eve a bit differently. As we have hay rides, trains, and as we wait for Santa to come to hand out gifts and take pictures with kids we have finger foods. Yes, we know that Santa is one busy man but from since I have been alive he has been able to make it to out house on Christmas Eve to see all 80+ people. Yes, I come from a big extended family. One thing you can never have enough of are cupcakes. Kids just love these and having decorative cupcakes is all the fun. This is why I just fell in love with the Christmas Tree Cupcakes, yet again I found this one on Pinterest. 

Pretzel Hugs
In my family you can’t have Christmas without these. Pretzels and chocolate seem to be in abundance during the holidays. What can go wrong with chocolate and pretzels? Absolutely nothing. I simply enjoy making these due to how easy they are to make. Additionally, it is so funny to watch how quickly these are picked up.

The Best Hot Chocolate!

As the night winds down you can’t go wrong with hot chocolate. When you have so many people at a party it makes sense to have your hot chocolate powder mixed up and ready for the hot liquid to be poured over it. At night some want a hot drink but not coffee due to it keeping them up at night. I find this is a great way to satisfy everyone. Just think. The kids will love it and so will the adults, after all nothing is better on a cold night than a good cup of hot chocolate.
